I am going to start up a number of short adventures in the the city-state of Redpoint. These will be urban fantasy, in a cosmopolitan setting. From petty crime to politics, there will be a variety.
Also, at least initially, each adventure will focus on one player. One of the things that can slow down online games with multiple players are schedules; this way, adventures will move as fast as the participants desire. The player can decide whether to run one or more characters. At some later point, if two players want to team up their characters, we'll proceed from there.
I have a few ideas, but I am going to tailor things to each individual player, so I am not going to get too deep into plots right now.
Basically, we are going for a Lankhmar/City-state of the Invincible Overlord vibe.
Those who are interested may reply in this thread with charcter ideas, or pm me.

I'd be willing to play Tembo and/or Reynaldo again (I hope I'm not the one holding up RoC!)

Obviously I have been slack about cracking the whip. I like to let people play at their own pace. ROC will continue; this will be going on parallel. So I would like to use different characters, but if you really want to use Reynaldo or Tembo we'll figure it out.

I'm interested in playing. Just give me a little time to work out a character (concept). How many poinis ? Cool, Julianus! Take your time. Beginning characters - 32 points, 4 skills. Extra skills/abilities based on race and area of origin. A character from Redpoint could conceivably be of any race. The city was established after a series of human migrations drove most the other races out of the area between the two great mountain chains. But all races are present in Redpoint, as merchants, mercs, or slaves (slavery is on the wane, though the Slavers Guild is still a powerful force). King Gomar and the noble families are all human, but his court has other races.

Working on it now. Will probably be human. I've got Fire in the Streets and your posted price list and I'm working with those. When it's ready do I post it here or do I send it somewhere privately ?
I'm looking forward to giving this a shot. Haven't played-by-post in a long while. I really like to get into the role playing aspect of the game. Once I was in a TFT game playing a very polite Hobbit herbalist. When he was killed I began playing a rude coarse old wizard and the DM told me that the other players thought it was a different person/player playing the wizard. I took that as a complement.
Ever read the Thieves' World series ? That might (also) contain some inspiration for you.

OK, I'll make somebody new.
ACONITUS ST 11 DX 11(11)(11) IQ 10 MA 5 XP 0 Karma 0
Spells Slow, Summon Wolf, Blur
Skills Animal Handler (1), Tracking (1), Speak Elvish (1), Sorcerer's Tongue (1)
Gear: Dagger 1d6 Short sword 2d6-1 Longbow 2d6 w/20 arrows MW cloth armor 1/0 Small shield 1/0
Common clothing, boots & hat Plain religious symbol Bedroll Backpack Wineskin Canteen 2 Torches Tinderbox 5 Yds rope 14 days Hard rations
Silver pieces: 56
Aconitus is a druid from the forests near Veraith. He has a curiosity about the world and civilization in particular that other members of his tribe find troubling. They hope that by sending him to Redpoint "The Big City" as it were, that he'll be exposed to the seedy side of humanity and be cured of this strange fascination of his... but it might not work out that way.

Julianus - you can post your character here. I'll start a thread on charcters when we are about to start. I read the first two, maybe three Thieves' World books back in the day. Good stuff!
Marc - thanks!

I'll give it a go:
Ghalle; female Half Orc (treat as human stats) from Divided Baronies:
ST: 13 IQ: 8 DX: 11 (10)
Morningstar, Dagger, Throwing Axe x 2, Cloth Armour, Small Shield
Not sure how much money to spend but would buy pack, sleeping roll etc
Speak Demarrain (free) IQ +1 Speak Orcish (free social skill) IQ +1 Axe/ Mace (Background skill) DX +1 Unarmed Cbt ST +1 Stalker DX +1 Stealth DX +1 Tracking IQ +1
Unsurprisingly something of a social loner, Ghalle has carved out a niche as a mercenary scout in the fraught battlefields of the Baronies. When personal feuds and backbiting simply became too much to handle, she wisely opted out and took a simple bodyguarding job for a merchant headed for Redpoint.

Character: Aurelio Xenn Human
ST: 10 DX: 12 (10) IQ: 10 MA: 5 XP: 0 Karma: 0
Unarmed: +1 Stealth: +1 Charisma: +1 Streetwise: +1 Free Social skill: Diplomacy: +1
Possessions / Equipment: Carries a concealed Cestus or Brass Knuckles or a modified Gauntlet, damage: ?? Wears a weathered/worn Leather long coat with 2 hidden inner pockets. (LUW Leather Coat: 2/2) Wears a wide brimmed hat that keeps his eyes in shadow most of the time. Also carries an ornate boot knife, but not for use as a weapon. Hard Boiled "Confidential Agent" who takes the jobs of mediator for less than reputable transactions such as ransom negotiations, finding of "lost" property, or other situations that requires a clandestine mediator or investigator. He can usually be contacted through Brody at the Tobacco Store off of water road. Has a reputation for playing things straight and honest. It is rumored he has also helped "hide/liberate" runaway slaves. Generally a good guy despite the "tough guy" demeanor. Smokes strong coarse cigars when not "on the job" (helps with the "tough guy" image). He doesn't believe in slavery and dislikes slavers... a LOT.

Hey guys,
I have been battling the flu the last week, and still not quite over it, so I have been laying low.
Your characters have given me some ideas. I'll get something going in a few days, trying to get caught up on work right now.
I think we'll have a short solo for each of the characters, and see where it goes from there, like the old Thieves' World stories Julianus brought up, with you guys drifting into each others' paths.
Glad to see the enthusiasm, and interesting characters!
Bret

Take things easy Bret, the flu this year is a killer. Recover then we'll deal with the game.
That being said, I will (eventually) need a judgement call on Aurelio's "hand weapon" damage. Looking forward to playing.

BTW,
I wanted to say that I like the idea of little character vignettes for RP sessions!
I remember when I was one of the first characters in the other game and there was a good bit of interaction with Tembo going it alone.

Can I ask how much money you start with so I can equip Ghalle fairly/ properly?
