For one karma point the Saints win the division over the Falcons. In the unlikely event neither wins the division, nobody owes nobody nuttin'. Whaddya say? I say that is one bet I will take. You're on for a karma point. I made this bold prediction before the game Wednesday night on my Facebook page but I'm giving the NFC East not to the Super Bowl Champion Giants, not to the Eagles, but to the darkhorse, Dallas Cowboys--I don't like them as much as the next guy--but their defense is something to be looked at, and they've always had the offense, they just have to keep from choking in the clutch. I think that will be this year for them. Also, I see the Bears giving the Pack a run, but just falling short in the end in the North. As NFC champion, I like the Packers-Cowboys-or of course, the Falcons to be the rep. in the Super Bowl. In the AFC, the Texans or the Ravens will be playing in the Superdome come February. The Pats are on the outside looking in this year.

Not much love for New Orleans, the host city of the Super Bowl. Oh, well, I guess we'll have to prove folks wrong on the field, then. My pick will be Saints-Patriots in the Super Bowl at the SuperDome. Go Saints!!

Four weeks in and everything is topsy-turvy. That didn't take too long.
My Lions did not live up to the hype. Obviously the special teams are atrocious, but the defense is average at best despite all the talent on the line. The secondary is weak, but Delmas coming back should help some. But the line cannot stop the run or get a consistent pass rush. The offense has no rhythm. last year they maaged a bunch of 4th quarter comebacks, but not this year.
The Falcons look great. Their leadership has stepped it up, matt Ryan looks more confident than he ever has. He has found ways to get it done even when his big targets are shut down. Defense is strong.
And the saints...holy cow, the Aints are back. I am not even sure where to start. Can Payton's absence really be main reason? I have only seen one of their games, against the Skins, and they just got outhustled on almost every play. Not sure if the other three games have been that way, but if so, it could be a motivational issue and tie into Payton's absence.

Not sure if the other three games have been that way, but if so, it could be a motivational issue and tie into Payton's absence. I wasn't going to say anything, hoping this whole thread would have been forgotten. Then I would wake up and find out it was opening day, the first 4 games a bad dream. Raspberries! Where to begin, yes, well first , there is zero defense on this team. We can't stop a Pee Wee team right now on defense. The offense is playing well enough, we haven't been blown out of any games, biggest loss is 8 points, but even Brees isn't where he was last year with his efficiency, or TD/INT ratio. The loss at home to KC was ridiculous, with their back rushing for over 200 yards! Who in the NFL rushes for over 200 yards anymore? Play against our defense and your guy might be next. Payton is definitely missed. The LB coach who is now interim head coach probably wasn't the best idea. As FOX pointed out, LB coach is low on the pecking order of coaches, so I'm not sure why he was selected over some of the others. Nonetheless, this year is a total WASH. At least there's LSU. So, vlad, I'm ready to concede the division already. 4 games in, we're 4 games out, and you guys have a 3 game edge on the other two teams. Let me know when you want your karma point Gaw, your AFC pick of Texans/Ravens is even looking sweet. Doing some serious hatin' on you right now. j/k ;D Vlad, you a ... college football fan? Double or nothing, Tigers-Bulldogs??!!??

Yeah, it dawned on me a short time after posting you may be talking about the mascot. Just had it fixed in my head you were talking about a player.

Double or nothing, Tigers-Bulldogs??!!?? Well, gents, it's a long season. Don't despair, anything could happen. All it takes is a couple of wins in a row and you're on a roll with the positive "mo." I should eliminate one pick in the AFC. Texans and Ravens are both looking great, but I'll go with the Texans. They're a little younger, faster, and maybe even a little meaner on defense. And hey, their quarterback even left a part of his ear on the field a couple of weeks ago. What's not to love about a guy like that? With the Birds, they're a much more aggressive team now on both sides of the ball, and you could see the difference preseason game #1. That's why I was stoked about them right off the bat. The new hires at both coordinator spots have made the difference; we'll see if it continues. Big game today with the 'Skins in the rain and mud. Yes, darkscar, I am a college football fan. Unfortunately, our teams won't play each other this year unless it's in the SEC championship game. Based on our teams' performances yesterday, it isn't looking like a likely scenario. ewookie, "Bully" is actually the name of Mississippi State's mascot. UGA is the name of the Georgia mascot and is the Greatest Mascot of Them All bleacherreport.com/articles/667562-college-football-2011-the-50-best-mascots-in-college-football

Falcons and 49ers (despite their one loss, to a surprisingly resugent Vikings team) seem to be the clas of the NFC. Texans look to be the best in the AFC. The loss of Cushing will hurt but shouldn't kill their season. That Watt dude is incredible.
ewookie, do you have a pro team?
A huge victory for the Saints. Even with 4 losses, they have the talent to tun 1-4 into 10-6. The '92 Chargers are the only team to come back from 0-4 to make the playoffs. It would be cool to see it happen again.
Unless it knocks my Lions out! Hah! But they are doing that themselves. They are being totally exposed now, and they should be.

It would be cool to see it happen again. It would be. In fact, I'm so juiced about their win and Brees setting a record, I'll go out on a limb and guarantee the Saints won't lose this weekend. Happy, happy, joy, joy.

Tough game for the Saints. 2-5 will be very difficult to come back fro, but if they get hot, and stay hot, they have the offense to pull it off. That defense is horrible, though. If they had won on Sunday, I could see them making a trade to shore things up and make a run. But after the loss, and with Spags saying there is no easy fix, a trade wasn't a great option. I am not even sure where you start on that defense. Secondary, I guess.
Falcons still the class of the league record-wise. I don't think they'll overlook they Cowboys, so they should be 8-0. I think the Giants are really still the team to beat in the NFC, but the Falcons are the team to do it.
My Lions saved their season in the last few seconds last week. At 3-4 they are in the wildcard hunt, as the other three teams in the division are all above .500. Definitely the toughest division in the league, but I see the Vikings and the Bears fading down the stretch.

I'm hoping for an 8-8 season at this point. Just survive this season somehow, and try to escape with a decent record, regroup, and try it again next year when there's less chaos surrounding the team, and the head coach is back. The defense simply won't allow them to win many games this campaign. Very disappointing.
