Hi all,
I've been playing in Lord Inar's short space adventure on Tavern-Keeper. I'm gonna toss my hat in the ring and try my luck (or is it skill) at running a game. Since that's the only online site that I have any experience with and it seems really simple and intuitive to use, I'm going to stick with that.
The game will use the Legends of the Ancient World rules in an appropriate setting. If any of you are interested, then please let me know. Thanks.

I would be willing to give it a whirl. I normally don't play Sci-Fi, other then Post Apoc. settings.

If you'd like to join, you can go to Tavern-Keeper and look for the Deja New campaign and request and invite. Or give me your email address and I'll send you and invitation.

Which post apocalypse games have you played? My very first RPG was The Realm of Yolmi. Metamorphosis Alpha and then the 1st edition of Gamma World, way back at the dawn of RPG time. Then most of the others, since then. But not this 'The Realm of Yolmi', I never heard of it. But I see from it's Wiki, that it has been around almost as long as the former of the two that I mentioned and a bit longer then the latter. 1976 and 1978 respectively, compared to it's 1977 publishing date. You learn something new everyday. It must of not of had a very big distribution. Because I visited more then two dozen different game store, up and down California, as well as illinois and Wisconsin, back in the late 70's to mid 80's. I don't remember seeing it on the shelves. Or see it advertised in the gaming magazines of that era. Interesting.

I'm always interested in some S & S, yeah! Started reading REH comics and then books at around the age of 12. I read most if not all of the imitators, back in the day. I'll have to check it out! BTW, here is a ideal picture of the PC I would be interested in playing. Though his shield would be circular and more like a large buckler. With the same wolf symbol that is on his battle gird, at it's center. www.d20pfsrd.com/images/kolvir_comm_by_yamao-d6uy0t8-320.pngPlayer: Character: Wulfnor, Wolf of the Northlands Race: Human Campaign: DEJA NEW Type:“Ranger” Experience: 0 ST 11 DX 12 (10) IQ 09 MA 5 Skills: Weapons: Bow +1: Long Bow [11] D6+2 (w/quiver of arrows) Sword +1: Short Sword [11] 2D6-1 Survival: PC lives off the land instead of eating a daily ration on 3/IQ. It was during my first hitch in the Navy. When I was stationed down in San Diego, had a childhood friend that I visited living up near Disneyland. An was temporarily assigned up near San Francisco for six months or so. Let's see, the only one I remember in S.D., Game Towne in the Old Town District. I remember Brookhurst Hobbies up near Disneyland. An Gamescape in S.F.. Where in CA, is Carmichael at?

Carmichael is a suburb of Sacramento. There's an AWESOME game and model shop called Viking Hobbies that's been there almost 40 years. It's a little hole-in-the-wall shop, but if you ever get the chance to stop in, I heartily recommend that you take it! Jessica is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

Wow, I remeber a guy I played with in the early '80's telling me about a game he had played in one time - Realm of Yolmi. Never saw a copy of it, and it had totally slipped my mind. Still have your copy?
It was Gamma World for me. First character I ever created, I lucked out and inherited a power armor suit. But it only had like 6 hours worth of power, so I did not wear it on my first trip to town. I ended up getting killed by poison grass or something.

Yes, I still have my copy. Well I did before my most recent move. To the best of my knowledge, it's still in a box in my trailer. Another friend of mine ran a couple of sessions of Metamorphosis Alpha and then Gamma World after we started role-playing, but it never really caught on. "First character I ever created, I lucked out and inherited a power armor suit. But it only had like 6 hours worth of power, so I did not wear it on my first trip to town. I ended up getting killed by poison grass or something." Sound like a case of "use it or lose it" but I would have done the same thing. :-)

Do you remember what he said? Or at the very least his impression of it? Since it was the first role-playing game I ever participated in, it has special memories for me. In all honesty, it's probably much more of the gm, players and experience than it is the game. Nonetheless, I still have an affinity for it.
