So I'm bumbling my way through "The Thing in the Lake" and rapidly came to the conclusion that I need to have a party of 4 characters to go through it not the single character I first initially though. (lets just say that run through went poorly.......). So started over after crafting 3 more characters to run through and Ive got a few questions.....
1)What is the definition of a 'location' when it comes to resting? I ended up going to the "Empty Village" and that has several buildings in it I can explore. Is the "Empty Village" the location or are the separate areas and buildings in the "Empty Village" each a separate location?
2)Wizard staff-says a wizard can have a staff equal to his IQ. Easy enough to figure that out. The Staff depletes its Fatigue from casting spells up to the rating of the Staff. Does any further fatigue go to the Wizard or is the staff the only source of fatigue depletion? (Im thinking that the fatigue then transfers to the Wizard but I want to make sure.)
3)LOS-does a character or a monster block LOS for the purposes of casting spells or shooting through them? Is there a penalty for shooting through a character or a monster-making it a 4/DX instead of a 3/DX?
thats all I really have for now. Thanks in advance for the answers!

I'll start with what I'm sure about: #2 You are correct. The Wizard himself can take Fatigue after the staff is depleted. You could take the Fatigue from the Wizard first instead of the staff if you wanted, although that's not very wise. #1 This question has come up before...and I don't remember the answer. It seems like the answer changes from time to time. At the very least, every numbered paragraph should NOT be considered a "location" - as some of those #paragraphs are simply the results of actions like searching, etc. and do not entail your characters moving from one area to another. Within the adventures, you are sometimes told not too subtly "This is a good place to rest." I prefer to restrict my "resting" (recovery of fatigue/damage) to these places and locations inhabited by friendly NPCs. Don't forget to recover 1 Fat at the end of every combat. #3 I don't think there are any official rules on this. Use your own judgment. 4/DX or 4/IQ seems reasonable to me with a caveat. On a critical failure (3d6 > 16), you re-roll the attack against the character(s)/monster(s) obstructing your LOS. This re-rolled attack would also use 4 dice but simply misses on a critical failure. Also, if you can't draw a straight line from one corner of the shooter/thrower/caster hex to the center of the target's hex without intersecting the center of another character's / monster's hex, I would rule that the shot is simply not possible. Just my thoughts. Would love for someone to correct me if I'm off on anything.

However, the LEGENDS rules are specifically basic because a lot of people like to add their own house rules. What the poster adds in #3 is actually a really nice way to play it. Anyway, I hope you're enjoying the games, please tell your friends :-)
