"Hmm, friend maybe, yes. Let us finish this crossing quickly. Master Harhzahk, keep a sharp eye ahead and above."

Hey guys,
I had some surgery on Tuesday. It was rather unexpected, and it was just scheduled last Friday after visiting the hand doctor. I had a tumor on a finger, but we are 99% sure it is benign. Anyway, had it removed on Tuesday and i missed afew days of work. Still not cleared to go back, but I am anyway as i am a bit behind.
later today i should get another post up here. Sorry about the delay, my friends!

Take your time. Health first. We've had some health things in our family recently too, which has made me a bit quieter than I like to be,

After another 20 yards, you are on the southern ledge of the great chasm, at the base of the natural bridge. The southern walls of the cavern push out toward you, and the ledge here is only a few paces wide. You are looking to the east and west, both of which paths end in darkness. You know that to the east is the territory of snacas; you see no activity down that direction presently. West lies your goal of the mushroom cavern, so you set off down the narrow ledge.
After several hundred yards it turns inward and gives out suddenly into a wide cave. It is surreally lit by flitting glow bugs and violet moss on the ceiling. As you look south, the cavern continues to expand, and the gently rolling entirety is covered in man-tall mushrooms and other fungal varieties. Insects and serpents buzz or writhe among the stalks and toadstools. As you walk through the fungal gardens, you become aware just how vast this cavern is. You smell pungent earth and dampness.
As the party gets their bearings, Mundy examines the soft ground here. "I can see the tracks of the party the dwarggs mentioned. They went that way." He points to the Southeast. "Also, there have been a lot of snacas passing in and out of here. The most recent seem to have come in and headed to the southwest, and they have yet to return."
Everyone becomes aware of a buzzing getting louder, almost as if it is upon you. Suddenly, a gree-glowing, winged fairie drops its invisibility and flits about your party.
"Yay! More treasure-seekers!" It buzzes by the tigrans. "Kitties! Want some milk?" It flies up to Reynaldo and hovers before him. "I am Glyxettrafentastromis. What are your names, if you have any?"

"Greetings, I am Reynaldo and this is my companion Tembo. I will let the others introduce themselves in a moment as they wish.
As you may tell, us large folk have such short names. Odd is it not? May I call you Glyx or Glyxett to accomodate us large folk's ability at remembering names?
It seems a long way underground for one such as yourself to be. Are you content? Have you been here long?"
Reynaldo is genuinely interested and trying hard not to accidentally say something that might offend the fairie.

"I am not sure why it is so difficult to call me by my name. Would it offend you if I called you Odlanyer, even though it is derived from your name? Or...wait, what is my point? No matter! Call me Glyx! It is an honor to meet you, and silent Tembo! And the others when they find their tongues...though the kitties may not find theirs! Hah! A human joke...or part of one, like Glyx is part of my name.
"This is a long way underground, I suppose, but it is my home. many pixies live among the mushrooms. Of course, many is a relative term.
"I am content. We play with the kobolds in the southern part of the cavern, and the snacas, and the dwarggs. Fun! I have lived here all my life. That is 27 cluxaddomintos. Er, human years, human years...that would be about 350 of those. Too short!
"Can I help you? The others spurned my help, telling me to get lost. As if that could happen. Hah!"

"I would never presume to tell you to get lost, good Glyx. Honestly, I'm surprised that any so foolish could have lived long enough to make it all the way down here. Indeed, we could use your help. But first, you said *more* treasure seekers. Have there been many? Do they usually find what they seek?""

All the while the Reynaldo is speaking with the Fairy, Rrowullh is muttering almost silently to himself and staring at his drawpaw, while his thumb seems to be counting something against each finger. Rrowullh rolls against IQ trying to memorize the Fairy's given name 3d6 -> [2,3,3] = (8) invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3591441/Having done this a number of times, he nods once and looks up to begin following the conversation again. Khanmahtt fishes three copper pieces out of his coin pouch, before drawing the string tight again and dogging it shut. He waits for the Fairy to answer Reynaldo's latest questions and when a moment presents itself, "I am called Khanmahtt and my brother is Rrowullh..." Rrowullh interrupts and asks the Fairy, "Please say the music of your given name again". (I don't know that either Tigran will be able to pronounce Glyx's full name, but Rrowullh is doing his very best to learn it properly without running the risk of saying it wrong.)

But first, you said *more* treasure seekers. Have there been many? Do they usually find what they seek?"" "There have been quite a few over the last few cluxaddomintos. Even more, recently. They seek treasure, usually from me and my friends, or the kobold city to the south. Those scale-skins are poor, but the mushrooms always taste better on the other side of the poo-pile, eh? Anyway, those seekers do not find. But lately, groupd have been looking for something else. A few...years...ago one group found some treasure from a long-ago battle site. They left to the west, down the old Serpents Way. Then a few groups have been here very recently." He turns and points to the southeast, where Mundy indicated a group had gone. "Some people are there, now. They have weapons and papers, and are fairly rude, in all candor. They are the ones who told me to leave them alone."

"Good Glyxettrafentastromis, it is an honor to met such a powerful fairie." Shadout bows deeply to the Fairie.

At Khanmahtt's introduction, the pixie raises an eyebrow as he sees the coins. But when Rrowullh speaks, the pixie beams with joy and does several backflips in the air, speaking his name in odd cadence to the rotations. "Glyxettrafentastromis! Glyxettrafentastromis! Glyxettrafentastromis!" [With the dice roll, Rrowullh is conident he can pronounce it, though not quite fluently.] "I love my name! And yours is charming, too! Role! Er...Roall? Ro-ahl? Ha! Simply lovely!" He then looks quizically at the coins in Khan's hand before continuing. "So...can I help you find something?"

"Good Glyxettrafentastromis, it is an honor to met such a powerful fairie." Shadout bows deeply to the Fairie. "Oooh, a mage! We are practically brothers!" The pixie returns Shadout's bow with a sudden, respectful solemnity. "Maybe I can find a present for you. Should you have one for me, that is, noble mage."

"I am Shadout. Please allow me to present you with this small token." Shadout reaches into his purse and takes out a silver piece. He polishes the silver piece with his tunic and hands it to the fairy.

Glyx's eyes go wide. "A silver piece! One entire silver piece! I am rich!" It is difficult to tell whether his tone is genuine or sarcastic - both possibilities cross your mind.
"I have the perfect gift for you!" He reaches into a pouch, where he drops the silver piece, and retrieves a wooden coin. He passes it to Shadout.
The mage looks at it closely. On one side it has the worn image of a large cup; on the other is writing in Sorcerers' Tongue. It reads "Redeemable for one Large Slurpee."

Rrowullh nods once more in satisfaction as the Fairy does loops in the air, then stands agape as Shadout casually pronounces the Fairy's full name.
Khanmahtt watches how Shadout's silver coin was accepted and sees the Fairy is now looking at him.
"Help me find something? Some day, may be, yes but nothing have I lost so fahr that I ask of you. You say you play with others and offurr them help, but I ask... does anyone ever offurr to entertain you?" He begins to juggle the 3 copper coins, keeping it simple at first. "These three aren't so shiny as the Silvuhr one The Shahdout has gifted you, but see how they dance?"
