Hi guys, This was the first full (bought) DCG adventure I played after OHM and TSM. I loved it. I thought there was a richness and depth to it, and I was surprised at how my TFT/ITL preconceptions were turned around. It wasn't all See Orc - Kill Orc before Orc kills You, it was talk first (with the option of nailing the sucker if he doesn't talk to you!). I did find mapping a problem, but was able to work out how to get from A to D via B and C for all locations, and after a while, I realised that recurring encounters do build up XPs when you win enough of them! One glitch that I did find (in my booklet) was that there were no stats given for the minotaur, so I had to improvise. Still, no harm done (except to the minotaur). Overall, I thought this was a fantastic game. It wasn't your basic hack/bash/kill dungeon crawl but rewarded parties for having characters with non-combat skills. Cheers Colin

Hey Colin,
Thanks so much for posting your thoughts. In some prints of the game, there is one botched connection from the second level to the third - maybe that is part of the mapping problem.
I have thought a few times that I should post some of the maps of the levels and sublevels here. I have them in rough handwritten, flow chart form - if I get some time over the weekend I'll clean them up, scan them, and post them.
I am very heartened by your experiences with ROC - thanks for posting your opinion!

Well, shit happens, but memories remain. Put it down to experience and move on. Great game. Cheers Colin]
