you know, it seems like i would have asked this before now. however, i'm only now realizing that i really don't know what 'incapacitation' really means.
if a character is 'incapacitated' what are the negative effects? what exactly is it that they can or can't do while 'incapacitated'? can they move from one location/encounter/numbered paragraph to another? can they move around the battle map/board? can they perform searches? can they fight? can they perform reactions? what limitations come with the status of 'incapacitated'?

Sorry I missed this, ewookie.
Is there a specific example where this applies? I don't recall using Incapacitated as an officail state, but I am sure we use it occasionally in the broad sense.
If incapacitated, a character would not be dead, and not neccessarily unconcious, but definitely unable to act in any way. They would not be able to do any of those things you ask, though the companions would be able to carry the incapacitated dude with them.
Sorry if I am missing the obvious reference here!

i guess exhaustion is another term for it. i think answered my question though. basically, they can't do anything but sit/lay there and say 'help me'
