Marc, no problem, I'll fix your IQ, amigo! Also, on the weapon as an area-of-origin skill, they certainly can be, but I still generally like to limit it to two weapon skill levels. But since none of the weapon skills here are +2 or +3, no problem. That rule is mostly to prevent players from taking sword+4, for example.
Everyone else - yep, I have the four games rolling now, I will be more active. Sorry for the slow start.

I was prepared for Nub to show up flat broke and sleeping in doorways. 110 silver pieces is a much better idea.

Just so everyone knows, go to the "Streets of Redpoint" sub-board (located above this thread, along with the Cygnosa and Outlaw Trail boards).
Thanks for your response everyone!

Hey, guys,
My sincere apologies for the unexpected and lengthy delay of the Redpoint games. Work has consumed a majority of my time, but I have been working on the two latest adventures (one from me and one a submission) like crazy trying to get them into shape.
I have really enjoyed the games and in the next two weeks hopefully i will be back on schedule in and out of work. There really isn't much excuse for my not making a post to our games once a day, except that my head has been elsewhere.
I am very sorry, and I promise things will be fun when I get started back up. I'll send everyone a pm or email in a couple of weeks.
Bret

I don't know if you're still taking character/player applications, but in the hope that perhaps you are... TRULS GRITT ST 12 DX 11 (9) IQ 9 Stalker-1 Tracking-1 Bow (Crossbow)-1 Leather Armor (2), Slung Shield, Crossbow 2D6, Axe 1D6+3 Truls made a meager living as a prospector until he finally found his "big score" -- a vein of silver that would make him wealthy as a king. He carefully hid his new stake and brought a silver nugget to town for analysis. That drew the attention of local bandits, who followed Truls back to his mine, ambushed him, stole his stake, and left him for dead. Truls wasn't dead. He recovered his health and tracked the bandits back to their lair. There he saddled up his mule "Ol' Blackie", took the reins in his teeth, a crossbow in his right hand, axe in his left, and road through the bandit's tents like death incarnate. Truls didn't make the same mistake the bandits did: he left no one alive that bloody night. By the time Truls returned to his mine it had been taken over by vile orcs, dimwitted creatures who didn't even understand the value of the silver veins. They just thought it was a pretty place to lair. Truls has turned away from prospecting for the moment, selling his axe and his crossbow to the highest bidder. He hopes to gain enough reknown that he can draw a hardy band of oathsworn dwarves to his banner. Then he will slay the dumb orcs and reclaim his fortune.

Hey Sarge,
Truls will definitely be welcome in the game. I am finishing up the manuscript of Ebon Rebirth for playtesting, and then I will get back to posting in the Redpoint games. I had hoped to be at that point now, but it will realistically be at least another week. It has been a long time since we put out an adventure, and I want to make sure that this one is great.
I never have goos luck with washes on my figures, so they have mostly stayed rather plain. I like your wash. One thing I have tried recently is using Minwax Polyshades as a sealer and wash, and then spreaying Testor's Dullcote over that. I am pretty happy with it, I'll be posting a few pix from some playtests of ER soon.
Do you use a straight-up dark brown wash?

Thanks for the kind words. I use Citadel/GW washes, and I generally use different washes for different parts of the figures. I think it's called "block painting" -- I paint the color various base coats and then give appropriate washes to each "block" of color. But admittedly I may be misunderstanding that term. Then I'll go back and highlight depending on how the figure looks.
For the Truls figure, in particular, that was all various shades of brown, anyway, so I just used a single wash over the whole figure (basically, as you ascertained, a dip). My favorite go-to wash for this sort of thing is GW/Citadel's "Gryphonne Sepia". I've found that using that over a light flesh (like GW elf flesh) or even white can give the face, in particular, nice detail. The other washes I use regularly are GW/Citadel's black wash and their dark brown wash, which used to be called "Devlan Mud" but I don't remember what it's called now. The only reason I use the Citadel paints is because they're easy to find and I go through a lot of it.
Regarding the game, no worries, take your time! I float in and out of message boards, so would you mind e-mailing me if/when you're ready to start? I'd hate to hold you up for the simple reason I forgot to check the message board for a month!
