Reynaldo takes command in a way you haven't seen before: "Tembo, Rrollwwuh, to the side, Enyeto, Mundy, Shadout, to the other side, Norx and Khanmatt down the center!" [OOC: or something like that; he's simply giving our team the advantage and I'm not sure to best represent that.] Reynaldo steals initiative: 3d6 → [3,5,5] = (13) Tactician, need 13 or less to steal initiative invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3205220/

[OK, with the Tactician roll, you guys go first! Everybody post their turn 1 actions. We assume weapons were at the ready entering this stretch of trees, so get into it. The six goblins are close enough that everyone with a melee weapon can attack the first turn. Khanmahtt can get a charge attack.
If you want to follow Reynaldo's orders, assume two goblins on the left side, two on the right, and two in the center. You also see two archers amidst the trees (4/DX to hit as above).]

Seeing that Reynaldo wants to sieze the initiative back from the ambushers, Khanmahtt charges towards one of the goblins in the center. [Applying the Skill modify to hit, rolled an adjusted 10. The bonus die on the damage roll wasn't quite a good, got a 1 and a 5 +2 = 8 hits] invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3205461/

Rrowullh has an arrow ready, and lets fly towards the goblin nearest him. Though he aims deliberately for the goblin's face, the arrow zips just past the goblins ear. In that frozen eternity of "uh-oh", Rrowullh takes in his new opponent's size, weapons, and armor. How bad is this going to hurt? he wonders. [Even with the +1 to hit I missed my roll by 1, and the damage would have been a 6. Argh. Maybe it'll make him think twice about charging in headlong.] invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3205468/

[Blackjack - it seems you used a 2 ST Magic Fist-1; since you did not specify whether the Fatigue came from your ST or your Focus, I defaulted it to be applied against your focus. In addition, i don't know whether Shadout has Leather or Cloth armor or nothing; let me know!] Mundy grunts at Reynaldo's sudden decisiveness and speeds an arrow at the goblin Shadout injured. The arrow catches the injured goblin under the chin and he collapses. (8-1+7 hits) invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3206488/Norx barks in pleasure at the prospect of violence. He rushes beside Khanmahtt and swings his short sword at the same goblin. The sword licks under the shield and the goblin falls in a bloody heap. (6-1=5 hits) invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3206491/

Before I do anything with Reynaldo, I have two questions:
1) Does Tactician use up my turn? 2) Does leadership apply only before or can it apply after someone's roll? (I'm sorry if I asked these already)?

Tembo positions himself between the archer and the goblins to give Rrowullh time to reload or change weapons. He strikes at the goblin closest to Rrowullh. Boom! Almost recklessly, Tembo strikes at the goblin, who nearly sidesteps, but gets caught instead with a solid blow to the head. 3d6-1; 1d6+2 → [6,4,2,-1] = (11) 3d6-1; 1d6+2 → [6,2] = (8) Bonus to hit (included). Need an 11 or less. invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3206511/

Before I do anything with Reynaldo, I have two questions: 1) Does Tactician use up my turn? 2) Does leadership apply only before or can it apply after someone's roll? (I'm sorry if I asked these already)? Hey Marc, no problem with the questions! 1)Vague in the rules, could go either way, but I play that No, it does not take up your turn (essentially it is some quickly barked-out orders) so you may still act this turn. 2)You must designate if you are applying Leadership BEFORE the roll. As with much of our stripped down rules, you could interpret this differently, but there are several references to applying skills or making skill-based decisions before you roll, so this ruling is consistent with that.

I wish I could be there - love to see it! I will be at an Oyster Roast that night in Newport News.

Fair enough! Reynaldo fires his bow and unfortunately misses by one!
