Bret, this was an atypical campaign where there were usually 3-4 different player groups at any given time, since we had different schedules and activities. Some of the parties had 2 or 3 players and others had 6-8. Sometimes we interacted and sometimes we went our separate ways. The GM didn't seem to mind keeping track of the different parties and creating different adventures. It was a fun and dynamic campaign setting.

Ed, I can't speak for all players. For myself, it really doesn't matter as long as the game is fun. It really helps if it's also cohesive, well thought out and flows smoothly.
Good adventures and plot-lines can flow from any environment. Sometimes different and unique is a nice break and sometimes it can be awkward for the players. The familiar is usually comfortable but often predictable and can follow similar and predictable patterns. If you're feeling that things are getting repetitive, stale and in a rut, then switch things up. Your imagination is your limit.

Dear Ed, I prefer a little chocolate in my peanut butter and a little peanut butter in my chocolate.

Well, personally, if you're going to put them out to the public, I'd put in some non-human PC/NPC types -- it appeals to a broader audience that way. And as Frau Blucher says, there's nothing that would prevent them being in a grittier play envelope. On the other hand, if it would destroy your intended ambiance, then do it the way you want!
I think anything you post will be very much appreciated by most or all of us! ;-)

Last playtest of the second module is scheduled for a week from Tuesday. We'll finally find out if Erin is safe or is too be a wererat or if he must undergo The Cure. I'll post The Cure after this session for the benefit of anyone who wants to use it in their own games.
After this I'll revise it based on lessons learned and run both adventures with new players. After that, they get put into solo play format for additional testing before final clean-up and submission.
The current players have tentatively agreed to start over with new characters for test the next round of adventures. There is still plenty to do in Cleeburg and its environs.
Regards, Ed
