Back on topic, a two game winning streak has me reaching for more beer. I like Caldwell, and thought he did a good job last year, and a poor job this year in adjusting to new realities (of the roster in particular). But he never lost the team, and Jim Bob Cooter (I can't type that without thinking about my cousins and friends around Bristol, TN) has done a decent job in play calling the last few weeks.
We have some dude who managed the Fords' personal money as the team president instead of a dude with a background in football. That does not bode well for the GM search, shades of the last 65 years all over again, but I'm just naive enough to think that it is not all bleak and hopeless. Maybe we hire a GM who has some non-Millen style football knowledge and we get some talent, and Caldwell stays and the ship gets righted.
Anyway, let's run the table!

Gah! Sorry I have been away! I missed this! Yes to all of the above, actually. I am a beer snob, but with a broad range of tastes! Currently Dos Equis Ambar is my go-to, but my all time fav is probably Liberty Ale by Anchor Steam Brewing company. My favorites are the ones I listed as your possible favorites, Bret. HAHA. You can also add Harp's to my list. Party on!

MFB, While I was shopping this morning, I saw a bunch of Lions shirts and stuff on sale. Are you ready for today's game?

The Lions were certainly ready. The offensive Lion and the defensive Lion were dominant. They pushed and shoved, and shoved and pushed, and dominated the lion of scrimmage. Happy Thanksgiving, Mister Frau Blucher. <ROAR> Regards, Ed

Ah yes, once again my Titans have managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I wish the Birds were in the vicinity of the jaws of victory today, but alas, never were.

Yet another entry for the Lion's "Wall of Shame." Pretty soon it will be bigger than the Great Wall of China.
Is it my imagination, or is the officiating in the NFL sinking to new lows? I how it's just incompetence and not something more nefarious, like what happened in the NBA a few years back.

I agree. I'm not pleased with refereeing in the NFL this season.

I don't think I've ever been pleased with NFL officiating, but yeah, this year, these guys are getting scrutinized, as well they should.

Yeah, I don't think the poor officiating was always this bad. Granted, we have social media now, but there have always been cameras and minute scrutiny on NFL games. So this year of crappy officiating is the real thing. I suppose it could be the inevitable statistical spike, but referees that have continued to make horrific calls remain in heavy rotation. Anytime I see Jeff Triplette calling a game, you know officiating will play a part in the outcome.

By the way, Vlad, how did you become God? Do you get to create a custom title after 500 posts, or did you hack into my carefully encrypted passwords to this site? ;-)

Ed "Big Arms" Hochuli seems to be the bane of many a broadcaster, too. The God title popped up after my 500th post. I didn't have anything to do with it, but it does serve my delusions of grandeur quite well.

Darkscar's Saints against my Lions in a winner-take-all-of-this-and-nothing steel cage match tonight! The bored Detroit media, looking for anything to talk about this season, is speculating that Sean Payton might be Detroit's coach next year because 1) the power struggle among the Saints' ownership will force him out, and 2)Sheldon White, Detroit's interim GM, was an assistant coach on the same collegiate staff with Payton in 1994, and 3) look what he did with Brees, he could do the same thing with Stafford, it just hasta happen!
Good luck tonight, darkscar!
Vlad, right on about Hochuli, he has botched so many calls over the years but he is head of the ref's union AND a lawyer, so he will never go anywhere.
I found the section on the boards' admin section where the titles are set up. Pretty funny! Let me know if your megalomania is satisfied with being a mere GOD or if you prefer a custom title for 500 posts!

Exciting game. Congrats and condolences as appropriate. The non-partisan portion of the audience got its money's worth.

I went from an exciting football game to the second half of "Last of the Summer Wine". The episode is "Of Dates and Codfanglers". If you have ever wondered what a tatty little goblin in human society looks (and acts) like, I suggest you go to YouTube and catch this or some other episodes from before 1999. Bill Owen as Compo Simmonite is great.
