Also found three Books The first is in Dwarvish runes, this can be sold as a curio at 008, 042 or 044. Someone can keep it to gain one XP or three XP if they speak or read Dwarvish. Any Dwarf in the Party will insist on keeping it, and gain one Karma point for protecting it.

I like what you are doing here, wolfsbane! It has actually been over 10 years now since I played the adventure...might be time to give it a spin again! I'll wait a week or so to see if you add any more, and then print them out. I'll also point George in this direction, I'm sure he'll be glad to see some extra content on here.

Plus it solves an interesting problem. Which is, how do you motivate PC's to do things that normal humans would be driven to do, when there's no material advantage for the PC. I should have thought of this a long time ago!

I very much like these ideas--and I appreciate your sharing them. These would give a little more depth to COK. The question becomes, is it worth it to update an old adventure, or put something like this into a new adventure?

An item I'm planting in the Village for the Adventurers to find is a Book of demonology detailing a particular horror, an erinyes named "Dhuubbauhre" (that courtesy of FantasyNameGenerators.com) - "spawn of Nyx", "scourge of Arkaad", quoting sources such as Hesiod, Soloman's Key, Virgil and Hester, it even details her mating with dragons and her gargoyle'ish children ... Alertness, Literacy in the Sorcerer's Tongue or 3 days study reveals symbols and "words of power" akin to those included in the TALISMANS ... studying this Book is worth 1 XP for Alchemists, 2 XP for Scholars, and 3 XP for wizards.

Rumors picked up in the tavern ... There's an old man who reminisces about hiking the Mountain in his younger days, long before the rise of the Mountain King - praise be upon him - and encountering what he calls fairy dragons, viscious little creatures like winged bobcats ... his story telling reminds others to mention that the Mountain has stunning views of the lands below and less happy stories of a certain Lovers' Leap up on the Mountain. ( Bards gain an XP from this ... )
