Master of the Amulets (MotA) "A quest for power in the valley of death" has been one of my favorites, published in 1981 MotA was quite different from the other MicroQuest adventures for Melee and Wizards.
I've played it straight, solo and with a partner, plus used it as an element of a campaign of ITL long ago.

Being a fan of Outdoor Survival "by the Avalon Hill gaming company" ( which actually came to my attention because of OD&D ) I recall immediately wanted to add Foraging rules for the Party. I believe my first version ( pre-ITL) went as follows : starting with D6+4 daily Rations per Character, a turn spent stopped to hunt in the Open or in Hills equiped with a Missile weapon a Character could obtain 3D-6 Rations (results of zero and negatives are possible, sometimes you spend more energy than you gain), in Woods and River hexes Thrown weapons did the trick as well as Missiles. Without any of those capabilities a Character could work a Woods, Hills or River hex and gather D-2 (again a negative is possible)

Boomerangs, as I recall, were a vastly overrated weapon in the game. Get a player with Thrown Weapons and issue him a couple of boomerangs, and the Mongol hordes would go down in short order. I remember "nerfing" the heck out of Boomerangs after the first time someone used them in my original ITL campaign almost 40 years ago now... ;-)

And I found a fragment of my old notes to refresh my memory on the consequences of missing rations (I believe I had heard people can survive weeks without eating) ... first two days no problem, third day lose 1 ST, next day lose another ST, next day lose 1 DX, repeat cycle losing 2 ST then 1 DX, third set it's 2 ST and 1 IQ, repeat that 9-day cycle to lose 6 ST, 2 DX and 1 IQ each time. Returning to having food, a day of work or travel reverse one days lose, a day fed and not traveling or working reverse three days loses.
