Is there any guidance/rule on how large a ship's section is? Is it a certain number of TFT megahexes or hexes? For example one section equals 3 megahexes. I'm trying to equate a ship's section in-order to design ship floorplans.

Based on the rules & review of a Traveller Modular Cutter. I estimated the following for ship builds. Cargo Unit: 2 megahexes, Operations unit: 4 megahexes, Engineering unit: 8 megahexes & Living unit: 4 megahexes. Any thoughts? Comments?

Man, you keep zeroing in on stuff we haven't precisely defined! We have kept a lot of stuff as abstract as possible, because 1) it gives our authors a bit of space to set up things as they want, and 2) it lets people customize the rules as they want. A TFT megahex might be on the small side for a ship's section. If I was laying out a hex map of a ship, I'd probably do a 5 by 5 hex square. But that's just me!
