I loved "Oasis", haven't received "At Empires End" yet (still stuck at the shipping Post Office), but I had to use the "SPRING" Promo. Just ordered "Void Station 57", "The Dark Star Incident", "Into Chaos" & "Deceit & Betrayal".

Cool. I wrote Deceit and Betrayal. Let me know how you like it! I like the Star Trek style of the game, including using actor's names as crew members. But I do have a few questions that hopefully you can answer. (1) The UPF Frigate is a 64 point build? (2) Since it is UPF/Star Trek, why no shields, transporters or photon torpedoes? (3) How many loads of plattnerite does a standard UPF Frigate carry? Is it part of/stored in engineering or in the cargo section? (4) Is plattnerite the required fuel for Jump Travel by all ships?

It's been a while since I wrote it, but I'll try to answer your questions. Plattnerite is needed for Jumps. I don't recall how many jumps' worth a given ship may carry. As for the ship builds, like the 64 point UPF Frigate, I had written my own spaceship build and combat rules, but Bret and George went with their preexisting ship rules, and I haven't had a chance to read over what they did.

Hey, madhopper50,
Thanks for going all-in on sf with us! We really appreciate it!
In publishing DAB, we decided to stay with the basis of our existing rules for a few reasons rather than adapt a whole new system for a single adventure.
While Nick based everything on Star Trek, we did not adopt all the chrome in the setting for legal reasons.
Plattnerite exists only in DAB, so does not carry over to our other adventures - unless you wish to introduce it in them and introduce a few new rules for it.
And whether the frigate is 64 points - I don't remember, I'll have to go back and check.
