Quick question, what exactly is an "Autochef"? Is it similar to Star Trek's Food Replicator? Or more simpler?

I guess I shouldn't have used a Traveller RPG term. LTS rules state this - Living Section: "A living section enables the craft to make extended space runs. The section includes a galley machine, human waste recycling, cramped berthing space with virtual reality capabilities, and in a pinch, suspended animation". A "Galley Machine" doesn't sound sophisticated, "spaghetti & meatballs" might be beyond it's capabilities.

Is it a sophisticated microwave or some such? Or can it synthesize and prepare meals like I envision an autochef doing.? I'm not sure now. |

On the Traveller RPG Facebook page I asked about "Auto-Galleys" and got numerous answers. Many appropriate for an "Auto-Chef".
