"Inyaytoh, come on my friend. Let's join Rraynahldoh and the others. I think he wants us to move along from here as soon as we can."
As the pair make it back to Reynaldo Khanmahtt hefts his coin pouch, "I did not haggle, and might have got more elsewhere, but these are a lot easier to carry than that axe. Our plan did not work exactly as we thought, but the outcome was the same. Thank you Rraynahldoh, your advice proved valuable indeed. Are we going to the Trading Post? As long as we get no closer to Blackledge than that, I am for it."

The party quickly gathers and heads down the tunnel leading south, to the Trading Post. [Guys - I will start a new thread on Monday at the latest. In the meantime I will get the current character status thread updated with what happened here (xp gained, money, etc.) and will summarize here along with the link to the new thread. 2 quick things: We will be having another player join us fo rthe next phase, starting at the Trading Post. I've known Brian for a long time, and he is Chris's brother, so player on player violence in his case is explicitly encouraged. Second, George and I are hoping to organize a mini-summit this summer. It will be specifically to playtest the expanded rules. Given the relative proximity of me, blackjack, blacknigel, and his brother, we were thinking somewhere in Northern Virginia, that was driving distance for the 4 of us, and George would fly in, assuming everyone could do it. Marc, you are welcome to join to. You are as far away as George, and I know you do a lot of travelling, but maybe with enough notice you could work it out. I will put up a separate thread about this in the next week or so, but I wanted to give you guys a heads up so you could be thinking about it. We are looking at early june or almost any weekend in July at this point. Again, still in the idea/formative stages, but hopefully all of you guys are interested and it would mesh with your schedules.]

[OK, new thread is up at darkcitygames.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=mfbroc&thread=73In making it to the second level, the plotword NAIL becomes NAILS so everyone gets an xp for that. Khan gets two xp for waxing Kludd in single combat. Reynaldo gets an xp for huis help during the fight, and finally everyone gets a karma point for the morale-building arrival to the second level. If I have forgotten anything, let me know here or in the new thread!]

[You may loot Kludd's corpse. Besides the battleaxe and chainmail and tattered cape, there is a purse with 45 silvers and a belt with fine brass studs. Lastly there is a dagger. none of the items are magical, though they are quality and may fetch a decent price.] He counts out 6 gold coins, and 45 silvers. He slips a few remaining silvers back into his purse. "I am keeping the rest for my vile offspring. But I hope you will accept these coins as a ransom for that axe." By my reckoning, Khanmahtt’s total of silver coins should be 101, not 56. He had 11. Kludd’s coin purse had 45, and then he ransomed the axe for 6 gold and 45 silvers. If the timing can work out with my schedule, I’m totally down for the “mini-summit”. I was speaking with Brian about it yesterday. I’m not sure what you had in mind as far as arrangements, facilities and whatnot, but he’s psyched to participate too. Not to steal his thunder, and provided the timing fits their schedule of course, Brian might be willing to host the gaming/working sessions at his dining room table. He and his wife live in Greenbelt, MD, just outside the DC beltway. Their place is right between where the Baltimore-Washington Parkway and I-95 connect to the DC Beltway. So it’s real convenient for those driving, or those flying into BWI. Even flying into Dulles or Reagan National isn’t too far, but it is more time and miles on a rental car, but barring traffic less than an hour’s drive. They don’t have enough room at their place for everyone to stay, but for “the business at hand” it could be a convenient and comfortable choice.
