What is the character level for this adventure? Is this good for beginners?

Hey, Joe,
It is listed as 34-point characters. Absolute beginning characters will have a tough time, and with 34 it is still dicey. George and I got together last year and I ran a party through when we did final playtesting. The party was 34 points, and while they all survived, two of them used Wishes to to do it (by restoring themselves to full health). Knowing the kind of adventure george writes helped me a bit as well.
So, in short, skilled players can get by with 34 point characters - if the players are new to LAW or role-playing, you might opt for 36 point guys and/or a couple of extra skills.

Bret, Joe would probably rather run it with newbies and no aid. He initials are T.P.K. 
On the other hand, I'm a softie. I've had a campaign in a different game system running for over 15 years and one guy is still on his original character.

I used to know a few GM's with TPK as their middle initials! But I've become a bit of a softie myself, these days...too many healing potions in our adventures...

In all fairness to Joe, most of the 7 players (assisted by 5 reluctant NPCs) were wargamers and not experienced in role-playing or hadn't played much in the preceding decade. Joe was running a different game system (i.e. not LAW) and at one point put his head on the table in frustration as the party couldn't hit anything, but the floor. Oh well. Joe is a Nice Guy (tm) but lets the dice fall where they may. The party had 8 gamers after I showed up. Joe is hoping that SOMEBODY (keyword?) makes it to second level, someday, maybe. We are to include playtesting my LAW campaign starting next month, I think. I think I've got a feel for coming up with beasties. We shall see if I'm right.
