(Bret, I'm not sure how the negotiations result in splitting up the associated costs amongst the party, but Rrowullh is paying 30 silver for the picks. Khanmahtt pays part of his share in gold and wants Vempoor and the Dwarves to see it, but wants to hang onto at least 3 pieces of gold if possible.) As I recall, it was your idea to make a single offer, amigo! Not sure what you had in mind for splitting the costs, if you'd like I will make a determination.

"Though it will cause my friends and I to cut our daily rations in half, I believe we can meet your price. 163 silvers it is. Well bargained and done." "One more thing "Lord" Vempoor. I purchased this stone earlier on our quest. It let's out a banshee wail when rubbed. Do you know anything of its history or use?" He turns the stone over in his slender fingers. Then a genuine smile crosses his lips. "Ah, indeed I do, good sir. A hundred years ago there was a craftsman who isolated himself on the third level of Cygnosa, in the ruins of an age-lost city. He found some knowledge of sonic properties, and created dozens of these stones. He would rub them and leave them at various points, creating either a cacophany or a sinister chorus, depending on your musical tastes, moaning throughout the dead city. "I don't recall what became of him, I was a lad at the time, and he disappeared soon after. I do not know what became of his works. Indeed, I had forgotten about him until you produced this." He seems lost in thought momentarily, then whispers almost to himself. "I wonder...could there be more still scattered about down there? Could his workshop still exist unmolested? Hmmm...." He catches himself then continues. "Well, good sir. Should you wish to part with this, I will give you...75 silvers. And, should you venture down to the third level - though it seems your destination is elsewhere - I would pay an equal amount for any more you uncover. And should you find the forgotten man's workshop, I would gladly compensate you for any other such sonicly endowed items you discover."

As the party negotiates with Vempoor and introductions are made with the dwarves - with whom there seems to be a common goal - Mundy comes into the shop, still moving lightly from his wounds. He seems initially content to wait, then impatiently interrupts Reynaldo and the dwarves.
"Reynaldo. Shadout. We may have some trouble heading our way. I just saw that tattooed dwargg mage and his hunchback friend on the street outside. They were walking slow, peering about them as if searching. For us, is my guess. I didn't sse the third figure you described, Shadout.
"I don't think they saw me. But I ducked in here as soon as I could." He looks around. "Looks like we are all here."
He nods at the dwarves. "I am Mundy. Sorry to break up proper introductions. He turns back to Reynaldo. "Stealth is not my specialty, tracking is. But I could try to follow them if you want. Not sure that is best. What do you think? Or am I just being paranoid?" He grins.

Shadout pauses to listen to Mundy. "Master Vempoor it seems that you and I have come to another bargain. I will take the 75 silvers for the stone and I will remember your offer to buy others." "So, lets us finish our business that I may attend to other pressing matters." "Is there a back door we may use."

(My idea I know, but mostly to simply the various haggling. But it also seemed the negotions were such that we'd get about a 10% "discount" on the original price. I figured members of the party would "chip in" their discounted price. I just wanted to make sure that in the accounting you do with our current charcter status that you subtracted a full 30 from Rrowullh; and Khanmahtt made up the shortfall on the lockpicks, and paid for 3 potions less his "discount".)

Lockpicks hanging loosely in his grip, Rrowullh listens intently to Mundy's story, and looks quickly between Tembo and Shadout as the mysterious third member is mentioned. Hearing Shadout ask for an alternate exit he nods in agreement.
Quitely, but addresing the entire huddled group, "Reynaldo, if we can leave here unobserved, perhaps it is time for me to try the Cloak of Shadows? I do not wish to confront the 2 alone accidentally, but perhaps Mundy and Khanmahtt could Track my progress at a discrete distance. The rest of you could follow them."
"Or do you have some other plan to see why these 2 seem so interested in us? I deefuhr to your leadership for guidance."

Or something like that. "Well, if we are done with our transactions, I can let you exit by the back door. Will the dwarves be going with you? I do not have what they require - though it is assumable, based on the maps you have acquired, that you may. "Oh, my, this is exciting." He guides the lot of you to an antechamber, and a barred door. He indicates the bar and Mundy lifts it. "If you tell me who is trailing you, perhaps I can give them a false report, should they come into my store. I am not worried about retaliation. The dwarggs value my merchantship greatly. "Remember Vempoor, my friends!"

(Hey my math was never the best, but I think I’ve figured out a fair way to divvy up the costs of what we bought at Vempoor’s. Reynaldo gets a 1s discount on the 2 maps, so cost of 3s Enyeto gets the same 1s discount for the quiver, so cost of 4s Shadout, “The Negotiator” gets a 20% discount on his 2 potions, so pays 32s Rrowullh pays 30s towards the lock picks. That totals 69s of our overall 163s bill, leaving 94s to go. Khanmahtt pays that with 3 gold coins and 64 silvers, for 3 potions and the rest of the lock picks. I hope that doesn’t dig too deep into other folk’s pockets, but does that sound about right?)

"Reynaldo, what if the dwarggs are interested in hiring us and not .......killing us?"

"Me moth'r stenches o' th' soot o' th' forge and stew o' th' mushroom, like any fine dwarf rinn! But what's all this noise 'n' bother? Dwarggs, damn th'r slimy beards? Tattoos? Back doors? Aagh!" Harzak thumps the butt of his hammer on the floor, peering around suspiciously.
"Perhaps proper introductions must wait on this new situation. We must test the metal on the anvil before us." A bit disgruntled, and excited by the commotion, Mulherrin listens carefully to the fast words of the humans and tigrans crowding the shop.
"Har! By hittin' it, 'n' lisnin f'r how it howls!"

"No my friend, I wouldn't want to risk them seeing you alone." Tembo steps up, "I will go out the front door with the dwarves to take a look. They may not remember me so well. It was the tigrans and Reynaldo that they were most suspicious of."

Also note that Shadout sold the whining stone for 75s. At some point we may need to delineate whose silver is whose, but since everybody is pulling the same way at this point it is not a big deal, I suppose. So Shadout can help in a financial emergency, as may the dwarves when they get integrated.]
