I created a Mage with ST 10, DX 10 and IQ 12 and gave him a wizard's staff and some spells.
1. Correct that I can cast my spells right away (assuming I meet IQ requirements) but the fatigue is assigned to the character?
2. My staff starts out at zero capacity according to the rules - Is capacity the max amount of fatigue the staff can absorb? 3. Does a depleted staff mean a zero capacity staff? 4. If I gain 2XPs, I can increase the staff's capacity by 1. So if I start with a zero capacity staff and then increase it to 1 capacity, does this mean that the staff can absorb 1 Fatigue and then any remaining Fatigue gets assigned to the character?
Thanks.

Hey, jam,
1. This is correct. The fatigue is applied against the ST of the wizard. 2. Capacity is how much fatigue it can supply the wizard for spell casting before it is drained. I think that is what you are saying here. 3. Yes. Until it recharges overnight. 4. Yes. Although I think it may be better to view the staff as supplying FT for the wizard's spells, rather than absorbing it. But as long as you mark off the staff's capacity as you power spells with it, it doesn't matter.
Note that in relation to 2. above, that most of our adventures allow wizard characters to start off with a staff that already has a FT capacity equal to his/her intelligence.
