Hey all,
Very soon we will be releasing our next adventure. Shadows in the Dark is written by Andrew Greene. It is a Legends of the Ancient World adventure, set in the borders between civilization and chaos. Mood-driven and intense, it features great writing and a variety of bizarre encounters.
We will have more to say when its release is imminent, but we still have some artwork to sort out. Hopefully it will see the light of day before the end of August. As our faithful know, precise release dates are difficult given the vagaries of our schedules outside of DCG, but within the month is realistic.
George and I are both very excited by this adventure, and we hope you will be, too!

I like the title. Sounds like fun. I'm into bizarre encounters.

Yes, we've got the script finalized, and have a working cover. Currently, we're waiting for piece art, but as soon as that arrives, we'll be ready to print. Depends on when we get the piece art, but I'm hoping that it will be ready by the end of August.
In fact, I'm pretty sure it will be ready by the end of August. And then shortly thereafter, we have the next adventure in the hopper.
Thanks guys.

Can you give an idea of what level of character it is aimed at? Cheers Colin

Hey Colin,
The adventure was playtested with several different power levels. Officially it will probably be for 38 point characters with about 10 skill levels; this might get tweaked based on George's final edits.
Cheers!

"Shadows in the Dark" will ship on September 10th.
It will be for advanced characters say 38-40 point characters.

Hi Bret, Great that SITD is available now. However- Tried to buy it through PayPal. Cost of shipping to UK is $17.00. Is that really the cost of surface mail to the UK. Please advise, as I hate to think that I'm paying more for its delivery than its creation. Cheers Colin.

Hey Colin,
I did not realize it was for sale, yet! D'Oh! George is going to be in NYC for two weeks, that is why it was not going to be available until Sept 10, when he returned.
As for the $17.00, I think it is unfortunately correct, though it covers multiple copies. let me doublecheck with George on that. I think we had found a final copy of LBB, and that was going into your next shipment.
Sorry for the vague answers right now. Let me ping George and get the facts, then perhaps I wil be less unknowledgeable!

Hey Colin,
I heard back on the email machine, and the cost of Priority mail to the UK is indeed $17.00. Evidently at one time we tried parcel post, but it created a lot of problems, and the time and effort and lost games made it cost prohibitive. On the slightly bright side, that shipping cost will cover about 6 games - but I am not going to ask you to buy more just to justify the cost of shipping.
Also, it seems we are out of copies of LBB, so we can't stuff that in there either to make the shipping more palatable.
I am truly sorry about this situation. Not quite sure what to suggest. We intend to have two more adventures out later this year, but that means waiting, and again buying more to justify shipping.
If you have any ideas, you might ping George at admin @ darkcitygames . com. He does all the shipping,, though he will be leaving Thursday night for NYC for two weeks.

OK, we are shipping now on SitD. George will be going to NYC Thursday night, for two weeks, and I don't think he will be able to take any copies with him and ship from there, so all orders placed before tomorrow afternoon will ship immediately. After that it will probably be a couple of weeks before copies ship again.
Sorry for the inconvenience - one problem with the two of us being in different parts of the US of A.

I'll echo ewookie's comment. The cover is gorgeous, and the game sounds unique and exciting. Good stuff.
