I was initially looking to start in the Time and Space world but I think now that I might want to try the Ancient World first. So I'm looking at the list of games on the website and wondering if they are listed in order from 1st to last, Chapter 1, that kind of thing.
Like Shadows in the Dark is at the top of the list, is that the "first" game I should start with? But then I see the term "Advanced 38 Point Characters" vs. Novice and Intermediate levels on others down the list. I assume I should be starting at Novice level and I want to play through the games in order. How should I approach this?
Hoping to get a few of these next month, looking forward to it. I see some free ones here to download. So I just need to create some counters to represent what's needed in the scenario correct? Thanks in advance.

Hey Lazareth, long time no see old man! (Yeah, some of us have a weird sense of humor around here.) Welcome aboard. I hope you will enjoy the games as much as the rest of us do. The question about adventure order comes up so often (about every time DCG releases a new adventure) that they created a thread specifically for that topic. I think the cut and paste below will link you to the specific thread. haha weird works for me. Glad to be here.
I apologize for asking a common question. I was in a hurry and didn't search like I should have. Thanks for the link, that's the exact info I needed. hmm I'm still drawn to the Sci-Fi world...Guess I'll have to get em all at some point. : )
Working on the PnP revised version of Barbarian Prince right now. When I get access to more funds I'll be getting a few of these. Thanks again.

Blacknigel, thanks for stepping in to answer the question! lazareth, no apology necessary. In fact, maybe you can tell me where you might have expected to see some commentary about adventure order. I would like to place it in as prominent a position as possible, so our friends can see it easily enough. I loved Barbarian Prince, played the crap out of it. Lost it the same time I lost Star Smuggler. There are some of those old Heritage/Dwarfstar games as pdf's on the net - I will track down the link if you don't have it. I am 90% sure it is hosted by Reaper Models, as they acquired some of those game rights when they got some of heritage's old molds (which were mostly Dungeon Dweller figures, but have since been acquired by Michael of Classic Miniatures). Thanks again for your impending business. The heating elements in our secret antarctic base are in need of upgrading. Bret

I think it might be easiest to number the games right on the main page where you click for info/order. Label the first "Series #1 or Chapter #1" on up. Also, making them loosely connected in that way might entice people to want to get the "complete" story type of thing. I'm bad about needing things complete, even if one or two in the set isn't so hot. Comic collector mentality that I have. haha
I visit BGG all the time and found the links to Dwarfstar there. On the Barbarian Prince BGG page somebody has uploaded revised components/books and they look fantastic. Going out today to gather some crafting supplies.
Also recently purchased the copies of the Kickstarted Last Frontier and Intruder which is finishing up. I like the looks of that one, too bad I missed it back in the day. I was so involved with my Commodore 64 that boardgames just weren't on my radar which is a shame cause I seemed to have missed a few. Magic Realm would have been the coolest. haha
Did pick up an Avalon Hill copy of Blackbeard recently, just trying to get my mind around early 90s rulebook cryptology. haha
Roger that, credits for base upgrade should be arriving sometime between Feb 20th & March 1st. ; )

Adventure Order is important only if you really want to do campaigns. They are quite fun.
Starting out I would do ""Orcs of the High Mountains", followed by Raid on Cygnosa", followed by the "Thing in the Lake".
For Scifi... "Oasis" followed by "Void Station 57", followed by "Dark Star"
The Cowboy adventure... "Blood in the Dust" is a one off adventure (rumors however point to a follow on...) and excellent as well.

Thanks for sharing that info. I've been in a sci-fi mood lately so I plan to get those to start with. I'll follow the order you recommended. : )
