Hey, all,
We have had some unsuccessful experiences with distributors here in the States. But we do sell directly to hobby stores, and to individuals, so we don't have much of a problem getting our games in the hands of people on this side of the pond.
But we have quite a few customers overseas, and shipping is nasty for them, and now it will be worse as the post office has raised their rates.
Do any of our friends overseas have knowledge of distributors, or possibly hobby shops that might have an inclination to act as distributors, in the UK or the continent? I am not certain that distributors over there would be any easier than those here to deal with, but I hear the pain of our distant customers, and we are interested in exploring options.

maybe i shouldn't post this because... 1. it's a really bad idea 2. it's a good idea and you've already explored it
...but i really feel for the guys on the other side of the pond too. if i lived over there i would do this...
perhaps, if one of the board members that lives in Europe or the UK were willing and had the spare money, they could act as a distributor for Europe and UK. like buy 5 of each adventure all at one time to save on shipping and then advertise themselves on the board and re-sell to the guys over there, passing on their savings from the bulk shipping.
similarly, perhaps the Europe guys could exchange emails, PMs, etc. and coordinate among themselves to pool their purchases through one person. maybe a 'europe-dcg' email list could help facilitate that.
i don't know. just hoping it works out for them.

Hi, guys As an across-the-pond devotee of DCG, I would say: Forget about physical components. Send a pdf or similar of the adventure itself, with an option to download any other printable pdfs (hex grids, characters, monsters etc) as needed/wanted. I would rather pay for a pdf and print it out myself than order a hard copy to be sent half way round the world, not because I'm Green, but because I'm mean! All the best Colin

I have to say, I also would be quite happy just buying a pdf and printing it. I have printer, card and even access to an A3 printer for making bigger maps.

Thank you for the information on distributors. That is exactly what we needed. George and I will use the contact info and look at the options.
Regarding the pdf's, it WILL happen in the next few months. Erratta is being incorporated, and we want to make sure everything has been cleaned up before progressing with that. But it is just a question of When at this point, not If.

A favourite of mine are Spirit Games: www.spiritgames.co.uk/An old fashioned games shop, run by an enthusiast. Unlike many of the UK shops with glossier websites they are fast and reliable; after some bad experiences I tend to use them for mail order stuff.

Hi, I'm with everyone else on the PDF option. Will probably buy all your games when they are available as PDF. However for physical copies it might be worth speaking to the chap at Boardgameguru, he has been the main distributer for Victory Point Games in the UK for a while now, so might be interested in something like this. www.boardgameguru.co.uk/

Thanks for the contacts; all of you guys have come through for us.
But the more important lesson is be the pdf thing. All of our oversea customers who have spoken up point to that as best for them.
I promise we will make this happen. I won't say soon, but definitely before the end of the year; and hopefully for our next release.
