Hey guys, I'm just wondering in the future if this forum will have a Sub-Section dedicated to the Combat Boots series that Dark City Games has started?
I'm also curious if Dark City Games has any news regarding the future of this series of war games or even a concept of what they want there next one to be about? Are you guys looking to stay within the realm of WWII battles or are you guys not really looking at any specific period of war and just looking to make great war games based off of unique battles fought from different periods of war? When I think "Combat Boots" I'm thinking infantry. I'm looking forward to playing Battle of the Bulge for sure and I already know this was a great investment on my part! Have you guys ever considered maybe one day publishing a "fictional" battle in this series? For example, maybe a game depicting a modern day civil war in the U.S., taking place in the not too distant future? Imagine, the American populace, sick and tired of losing more and more freedoms each day that passes. They rally, take up arms against the government and storm the White House and Pentagon! That would be insane!
In any case, I hope that this series continues to grow!
Thanks very much for the post, and also the email :-)
Combat Boots is just starting out, so there's still a lot of open areas to explore. And you're right, it is primarily about infantry, but we still have to cater to people who love tanks.
In the near future, the scheme is to focus on tactical WWII scenarios, which could eventually branch out into the Korean and Vietnam wars, as well as the Arab-Israeli wars. In the immediate future, the next games on the drawing board are:
- Guadalcanal - Battle of Britain (air war compatible w/CB) - North Africa (early war) - Stalingrad - Midway (not compatible with basic rules)
Maybe not in that order, but Guadalcanal will be next.
On the other hand, if you're interested in a specific area, we're always looking for input.

Thanks for the reply, dare2go. I'm don't really have any specific areas in mind either. I was just curious as to the direction you guys were thinking this series would go. WWII scenarios surely have many great stories to tell and games to be a part of! Thank you for giving me and others a glimpse at your drawing board! I've just got TWO BIG THUMBS UP to respond to this with!
