Enyeto to Reynaldo, "Its that stone the mage used. Its awakened the bats from their sleep." To all. "If the bats are awake they may want to feed. I don't want to be part of their diet." "I think we should move to a safer place and regroup. Anyone need a shield?" He turns to the Orc and says, "How far down the trade do we need to travel to find shelter?" Enyeto unties his bow from the side of his quiver and strings it. He then places his equipment and readies himself for travel. With the bow in his left and the Orc's spear in his right, he tells the orc, "Get up!"
Shadout: "Enyeto may be right. I don't know the powers of the stone. I used it in desperation." "If it did wake the bats they may be attracted to the sound of the stone and may attack us." "We may be able to find shelter on the trade road."

The orc shrugs painfully and replies, "There are cracks and caves along the trade route, plenty nearby. A half-hour's walk along the trade route will bring you to the western exit from this cavern."
------------
Mundy laughs good-naturedly at the discussion of the bats. "I don't think it matters what time of day it is. That is all relative down here. They must have their own internal cycle, which we have disrupted, but I doubt it is tied to the sun that never shines here." He nocks an arrow and looks up at the high-pitched tittering. "We may be alright. They might have just been stirred up by that stone, but the mage stopped it as soon as it started. Still...I don't think we should linger here. There may be other beasts worse than bats that heard the stone's call."

Rrowullh, "Agreed. We have stayed here long enough. Let's make our way down the trade path. Maybe we'll try the lizards when we camp for the night. Or maybe we use them to feed the orc - if he behaves."
Khanmahtt slings his small shield over his backpack, and takes up one of the Orc's Large Shields. He nervously begins trying to adjust himself to its heft. "I will try this for now, and see if it works." (I was hoping you guys would chime in with a "yay" or "nay" about having Khanmahtt try and be a sort of tank. He won't be comfortable in the role, but he's up for giving it a try if you think we need it. If not he'll ditch or trade the Large shield somewhere down the line.)

Shadout, "Enyeto allow me to guard the orc. Your weapons skill may be needed soon. I could use the spear as a prodding device."
Enyeto' "That's the best idea you've had mage, here." Enyeto hands the spear to the mage and spits to avert evil.

You set off along the trade route, heading west over well-worn ground, with the cavern's northern wall on your right. It is broken up occassionally by crevases and even a cave, from which three sets of unblinking eyes blaze out of the dark, but nothing attacks you. The screech overhead eventually dies down. You might catch some movement in the blue haze overhead, but it does not approach you. You continue past a stand of huge flowers and come to the western exit from the cavern. It is a long, winding passage. You follow the orange blazes through a stretch of wet tunnels where stalactites and stalagmites nearly touch, and shortly you come to a crossroads. There is a large, multi-leveled cavern with three exits. Besides the eastern exit (from which you have just come), there is a southern exit (where the trade route goes) and a low tunnel heading further west. The cavern slopes down from where you stand toward the center, and then up again toward the opposite exit. The southern exit, is on this lower level. The slope is steep, but still easily negotiable, as there are iron posts driven into the slope, to assist those traversing the trade route. As you contemplate the best order to descend, there is a movement from across the cavern, near the western exit. Three orc archers rise from concealment among stones. They have regular bows, which are raised toward you. One calls to your prisoner in orcish. Enyeto hears him say, "Grutt, you have brought back a fine catch from the hunting cavern!" The other two laugh. Grutt calls out to them (again in orcish), "Slay me, my brothers! I am shamed!" [First player to post after this, make a d6 initiative roll. Orcs roll a 5. If you tie, continue rolling until you win or lose. invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3368666/If you win, the party can post their actions at this point. Tactically, to get to the orcs, you must descend to the floor of the cavern, and then start climbing up toward them - about 5 turns. If you win initiative and wish to try negotiating, you may call out or try to convince Enyeto to talk with them...]

Reynaldo sees the danger in this and quickly moves to Enyeto "We need to cut this off, NOW!" he whispers. Initiative roll & Tactics roll to steal initiative if needed (12 or less) invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3369930/1d6; 3d6-1 → [2] = (2) 1d6; 3d6-1 → [1,5,1,-1] = (6)

Enyeto in Orcish: "We have sent 4 of your tribe to meet your Gods." "We have no problem sending you there as well." "Move aside and let us pass!!!"
Shadout grabs the orc and yanks him back. Holding a dagger to his throat. "You may not understand my words but you do understand this." With that Shadout pushes the dagger against the orc's throat just stopping short of the drawing blood. Shadout looks at Reynaldo and whispers "I may be able to end this quickly. I have enough energy left to burn those vermin."

[I take it no other actions? I assume Shadout has pulled the orc out of the line of fire of the orcish bows? For reference, two of the orcs are close enough together for Shadout to hit with the Magic Fist-3, but not all three.
Everyone else is standing and waiting on the orcs to respond to Enyeto's demand? If this is so, no problem, i just don't want to go if there are other actions...]

Reynaldo looks at Shadout and says "They're yours." His confidence gives Shadout a boost of +2 to his IQ roll if he chooses to use it.
[Was Rowullh seen? If not, Reynaldo will suggest starting to sneak over there]
Tembo can't really do much from here.

Shadout points his stick toward two of the orcs and makes a back handing motion with the other. The Orcs are struck by an unseen force.http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3373817/ (that an 8) invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3373831/ (4 hits) That takes the last fatigue from the stick and I assume 3 from Shadout.

Khanmahtt starts down the slope at best possible speed, large shield upraised against incoming arrows. If possible he’s trying to keep the Stalactites and Stalagmites between him and the orc archers. If there are groups where he can actually take cover behind, he’ll try and zig-zag amongst them as he makes his way towards the far slope. Rrowullh sees Shadout’s magic strike the two orcs clustered together. “Mundy, let’s target the third. Maybe we can stop him before he lets fly.” Rrowullh releases his arrow towards the unharmed third archer. 3d6-1;1d6 - [2,2,5,-1] = (8) 3d6-1;1d6 - [4] = (4) invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3373880/ The arrow flies straight and hits the archer a solid blow.

ORC TURN 1 Uno, smarting from Shadout's blow, says, "A call to negotiate, then attack! My mom was right! Humans are cowards!" He targets Mundy - and the arrow strikes him in the shoulder [5-1 =4hits]. invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3373906/Dos decides to pour it on the longbowman as well - and the arrow hits, but not as solidly [3-1=2 hits]. invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3373912/Tres watches Khanmahtt advance, but targets Mundy in order to bring one of the more dangerous foes down - and again the archer is hit by a solid shot [5-1=4hits]. Mundy falls to the ground, with three arrows quivering in his body. invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3373916/
