How do people store the map boards that come with each game? Leave them folded up inside the game pouches? The problem with this that constant folding/unfolding of the map causes creases and tears. Use plexiglass? This option is expensive and plexiglass doesn't come in 11x17 size. Just purchased at OfficeMax, ($10/10 package), clear 11x17 document protectors. Two maps back-to-back fit in each pouch and makes it easier to keep the maps flat. Another option, sinch the pouched come folded, is to store the maps in a 3-ring binder with the maps folded in half.

I've always just left them folded because I like everything compact. But you're right, it can eventually lead to them wearing out and unless they are well used they almost never lay flat. I really like your idea of the document protectors. Do they come in the 3-ring binder style? Because if you can get an 11x17 binder you could have the best of both worlds.

Yes they come in the 3-ring binder style (3 holes on one side with the top 17" open). They are like the regular 8.5x11 3-ring binder protectors, the 11x17 just come folded into the 8.5x11 packaging. I prefer to leave them flat 11x17.

Even if the sheet protectors started folded they might flatten out.

That binder looks great! The sheets do flatten out. Some of my maps in the 11x17 clear protecters.
