Hey, all,
As you know, the roots of our particular game system stretch back to the company Metagaming. their first game was Ogre, about a huge machine destroying everything in its path, and the forces trying to stop it. It was designed by Steve Jackson, same dude who designed Melee and Wizard. When he left and started his own company, he got the rights to Ogre, and they have made a few versions over the years.
Now they are making a deluxe end-of-all-versions version, and funding it's construction through kickstarter. I am trying to decide whether I want to get in on it, but there may be some people here who are unaware of the project and would definitely wish to get in on it.

It is tempting, but it looks like they are cardboard minis you assemble, as opposed to plastic or metal minis for the ogres.

Yeah, Marc, that gets me a bit, too. Looks like thick, durable cardboard, but if you were going to do this right it seems like a nice plastic would be the way to go. It seems like they are doing the cardboard so they can print stuff on it, but I would still rather see a plastic model with decals.

This campaign is over and it was a total success. They raised over $900,000 - not bad!
I did not contribute, though I was very tempted. The good news is that the success of this one means Steve Jackson will be doing another kickstarter next year for Car Wars.
Maybe I can find $100 by then!

I joined in for the $150 level. Ogre is one of my favorite games and I just thought I would regret it if I did not order it now and they sell out quickly in the fall. So, come November I am expecting a large box containing a 14 pound box of Ogre goodness and a slew of additional goodies. Hard to believe I bought the original Ogre and GEV for what, 2.99 each back in 1980 or so?

I am so bummed I missed this! I would have loved to given at the $150 level and get all the great extras that go with it.
Is there any kind of "fill in" program? Like someone else said they could give at the $150 level but now they can't so I can fill in for them to pay the money and get the extras?
