[Just so I understand - does that last post mean you press on further toward the fire and the voices?]

Yes, it's linked to post #42 (two earlier)

[That is what I thought, but post 43 is chronilogically after that one, and posted a choice at the bottom...so it confused me. I assume you are continuing closer, then.]
The two of you advance stealthily, and now the humid air is getting very hot. it seems there are a number of small, perhaps controlled, fires burning through the mushrooms. Now you can see some figures moving back and for between them, calling to one another. You catch snatches of conversation:
"...around here somewhere..."
"...do you see it yet?"
"...damned grotto has to be here..."
And then you see two figures coming toward you. They are walking casually, inspecting the fires: a man and an elf. They do not seem to have noticed you.
You may lay in wait here (make a final stealth roll each) or fall back to the party (automatically successful).

The longer Reynaldo and Rrowullh are gone the more uneasy Khanmahtt becomes. He paces back and forth for a time, trying vainly to get a better glimpse of the glow through the mushrooms. Even stopping for a few minutes to try and find his 3 dropped copper coins doesn't set him at ease. (Don't know if he actually finds them) "They've been gone too long. Maybe this MsShroom furrest is biggurr than we though. Come Mundy help me find their tracks, we can lead the othurrs down their path." Shooting a glance towards the rest of the party. "We'll go slow and not too far." Khanmahtt tries his Tracker skill to follow Rrowullh and Reynaldo's path. 3d6 -> [1,5,1] = (7) invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3622334/

Rrowullh raises a closed fist and glances toward Reynaldo. Mouthing the words, "Hide quickly. Get others if we fail" he attempts to conceal himself even further from the approaching strangers. 3d6 -> [1,4,3] = (8) Success! invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3622349/(Don't know if he'll need it, but Rrowullh is rolling for Stalker skill, just in case Reynaldo fails his Stealth roll - or some other juicy opportunity becomes available.) 3d6 -> [4,2,5] = (11) Success! invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3622354/

"You have an eye for this, my friend. I am afraid my usefulness might be-" He stops and looks quickly to the southwest, as does Enyeto. Khan hears it, too. A sibilant hissing, like snakes conversing. It is not nearby, but it is difficult to determine how far. "The snaca tracks I saw earlier - perhaps they are returning? Is the fire driving them back here? I could not tell how many there were..." With two members of the party forward, and possible snacas bearing down on you, do you continue after Reynaldo, or make a stand here?

Hi all,
Reynaldo would like to hide as well, but could someone roll for me (3d6-2, 10 or less) or I can wait until tonight (I forgot last night).

I don't think Khanmahtt, Enyeto, Shadout and the rest have gotten close enough to see Reynaldo. The party is in two groups , I think. Rrowullh and Reynaldo sneaking around, and everyone else trying to reach them. Do you want everyone else to keep going trying to reach the two? Or did you want everyone to.get ready to fight the snacas?

Correct - the party is split with Reynaldo and Rrowullh far in advance, near the fires, hiding from the two approaching them; and the others are several hundred yards away, about to advance toward Reynaldo's position, but now they hear snacas bearing down on them. Reynaldo and Rrowullh are hiding; the rest of the party needs to decide if they try to move forward to their position - stealthily or not - or make a stand here against the approaching snacas.

[Hey guys, I think I confused everyone. I have gone back and edited some posts, but here is the deal...
You crossed the bridge over the great chasm heading south; when you got to the south side you turned west until you came to this cavern, which was on your left (the abyss on your right, obviously). You entered and looked south. So you entered this cavern from the north.
Mundy forund two sets of tracks, one heading to the southeast, which was the party that passed the dwargg outpost earlier; and many snaca tracks heading southwest.
The fires are in the southeast; that is the direction Reynaldo and Rrowullh headed, and are now hidden from two approaching figures.
When the rest eventually decided to follow, you heard the approaching snacas, coming from the southwest.
So: North takes you back the way you came; souteast are the fires and two of your party; and the rest of the party was about to follow, when they heard snacas approaching from the southwest.
My apologies for the brain fart.
So Enyeto, Shadout, Tembo, Khan, Mundy and the dwarves need to decide whether to try to reach Reynaldo and Rrowullh, or stay here, either trying to hide from the snacas or making a stand.]

Tembo feels that his bloodlust for the snacas has abated a bit (he has wreaked vengeance enough). "We should stay hidden to see their numbers and attack if there are only a few."

"Agreed Tembo. No need to expend energy. We should ready weapons and hide." Shadout looks to the others for confirmation.
Enyeto spits to avert evil." I don't like hiding from anything but am ambush is not out of the question."

"Hrrakkah! Damn snakes." Khanmahtt shoots one last furtive look towards the glowing distance. "Ambush if we can, yes?" He nods to the others before doing his best to disappear into the mushroom undergrowth to await the snaca arrival.
