After a long hiatus I'm getting back into the game. Ordering some new the adventures. Surprised to see so many new ones. After reviewing the updated ruleset I have a few questions. I apologize if these were answered already. I did search and go through most of the message board. I found some answers.
1) Experience. I am familiar with how to gain and deploy experience points from the older ruleset. 2019 I believe there were from. In the updated rules I don't quite understand. A character gains 1 XP per fight he wins or plot word he gets. Does that count only individually or if the group wins a combat they all gain 1XP?
2) Regarding spending experience I don't quite understand the 3/2 X the Dex. 3/2? Is it 1.5 times the current DX?
3) Fatigue. I believe I understand this but wanted to make sure. If for example a wizard has attributes of 10 ST 10 DX 12 IQ and has a spell that is 3 FP. Am I correct that he can keep firing off that spell and accumulating fatigue if he has no damage. Say he fired the spell off 4 times. He has 12 Fatigue but he's ok because he accumulated no damage? He just needs to recover some fatigue back?
4) Referring Fatigue above, if in that instance he did accumulate some damage, say 3 damage (health now at 7). I'm trying to do the math on what that would cause. Any good examples of gameplay with this? Was trying to find several examples of this where the fatigue is accumulated with and without damage. Edit** The total would be 15 which is more than his ST so he's now unconscious and would need to sleep to get rid of that fatigue. If I'm right :-)
Thanks! Joe

Most of your questions are answered in the free rules download "DCG ADVENTURE STARTER".

Thanks Madhopper. I did look over the rules but was hoping for some further clarification on the items I listed. Wasn't sure if I had them right or if I was missing something. I played years ago so a bit rusty.

Greetings Zman68,
To answer your questions: Q1) Experience. I am familiar with how to gain and deploy experience points from the older ruleset. 2019 I believe there were from. In the updated rules I don't quite understand. A character gains 1 XP per fight he wins or plot word he gets. Does that count only individually or if the group wins a combat they all gain 1XP?
A) Every surviving member of the party gets 1 XP per fight and every member of the party gets 1 XP per plotword.
Q2) Regarding spending experience I don't quite understand the 3/2 X the Dex. 3/2? Is it 1.5 times the current DX?
A) yes. If you want to raise your DX from 10 to 11, it will cost you 15 (1.5*10) XP.
Q3) Fatigue.
A) Not quite. When your fatigue exceeds your Hit Points, you go unconscious. So after the third 3 FT spell, you only have 1 point left and could not cast anything higher than a 1 FT spell until you rested.
If I'm right?
A) sort of. You cannot spend more fatigue than you have health remaining. So, with a 10 health for example, you cast 2 3 FT fireballs, you now health is now your health is now at 4 until you rest. If something hits you for 4, you now have 4 damage and 6 fatigue and will wake up once you recover 1 fatigue.

Thanks Turgul, With regard to experience I just saw this note in another thread. Makes it easier to understand than 3/2 or 1.5 times the attribute: "To improve an attribute it costs five plus the desired attribute in xp. So to raise your DX from 12 to 13, it costs (5+13) 18 points." Or is it +6 that is indicated further down the thread? That wouldn't be the same as 1.5 x the attribute. Did it change again for the latest ruleset back to 5? darkcitygames.proboards.com/thread/485/new-experience-point-rules-2020I think I understand now regarding fatigue. I'm going to have to play some scenarios and see it occur in play to get the real gist of it. Actually, I may have avoided magic years ago because it was a rule I had difficulty with. I'm thickheaded haha. I like the new condensed ruleset, however I do look at the older 2019 ruleset at times because it provides more details for some things. Doesn't seem to be too many changes. XP seems to be the major one. Any suggestions on some of the new adventures to start out? I was looking at uprising (I like arena/gladiator type scenarios) and Lost City of Tectum. George mentioned in an offline email about LCT being similar to the old Fantasy Trip game Death Test as it's a series of battles of different conditions. Sounds interesting. Z

Grim is the Night just came out and is interesting. Lots of "Goblin" hunting. Village of the Dead is also interesting. Both are for 32-point adventurers. Edge of the World is for more advanced characters (35-37-points & 10 Skill Points). George upped the stat increase to reduce the stat creep.
